I’m an independent film historian and aspiring critic based in Hong Kong. I majored in Film Studies and Political Science as an undergraduate at Yale University, and completed a PhD dissertation on the 1930s critic Liu Na’ou and his Chinese Soft Film movement at the University of Hong Kong. My academic research has been primarily on Chinese film history, but I remain a devoted classic Hollywood cinephile as I have been since the age of 13. This blog is dedicated to documenting my ongoing search for old films that have yet to be picked up on my radar.
